Why this template
The DOOD is the document everyone needs.
A Day Out of Days lays out every cast member's working pattern across the schedule — start, work, hold, travel, drop, finish — in a grid one screen wide. UPMs read it for budget. Casting reads it for availability. Travel reads it for housing.
On any production longer than a couple of days, the DOOD is essential. This template gives you the standard format — auto-counts and all — without paying for studio scheduling software.

What's inside
Cast on the rows, days on the columns, totals on the bottom.
Each cell is a status code. Auto-summing rows give you per-cast totals; auto-summing columns give you per-day totals.
Cast list rows
Numbered to match the stripboard so cast IDs line up across documents.
Day columns
Date headers across the top of the grid, one column per shoot day.
Status code dropdowns
SW (Start Work), W (Work), WF (Work Finish), H (Hold), T (Travel), R (Rehearsal), D (Drop), SWF (Start Work Finish).
Auto-summing totals
Per-cast and per-day totals roll up automatically as you fill the grid.
Color-coded statuses
Each code in its own color so the schedule reads at a glance.
Multi-element ready
Use the same template for costumes, extras, or equipment — anywhere a daily availability grid is useful.
